Salve Regina!
Bridge between heaven and earth - Hofkapelle München - Rüdiger Lotter - Olivia VermeulenIt dates back to the great Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso (c. 1532-1594), boasts a rich tradition and is today known far beyond its country’s borders: the Hofkapelle München. Finally we’ve managed to bring this ensemble, led by Rüdiger Lotter and famous for world-class musicians with a passion for historically informed practice, to Melk. Also involved is Olivia Vermeulen, who has already been rapturously received several times at the Baroque Festival. Together, they devote themselves in a moving conclusion of the Festival to a programme based around the final third of the life of the Virgin Mary, tracing an arc from the grieving mother to the Resurrection of the son to the transfiguration of Mary as a hope-bringer for humanity.
