Following its success three years ago, Academia Mellicensis is entering its next round: during an intensive weekend, selected young talents will work with renowned experts in historical performance practice to develop an exciting program, which they will present on the final evening of the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk.
This time, the orchestra academy is dedicating itself to a rarely performed oratorio that takes us to the Viennese imperial court, where Johann Joseph Fux set new standards in music as court conductor. Against the backdrop of Christ's crucifixion, a gripping battle unfolds between divine forces and the demon of evil, who fight over the salvation of a sinner's soul. A rediscovery that is well worth it!
