Generalprobe >Magnificat<
Concentus Musicus Wien, P. Heras-CasadoHe was brought to Melk as a star guest by Artistic Director Michael Schade, and since then he has always returned to the Baroque Days as an audience favourite: Pablo Heras-Casado. During his upcoming visit to Melk, he will present the ‘Magnificat’, one of the central texts of Christianity, in two settings that seem to want to outdo each other in terms of tonal splendour. At the opening concert of the International Baroque Festival Melk Abbey 2025, he will show the audience what similarities and differences can be found in the works of Bach the Father and Bach the Son. As always, Concentus Musicus Wien and a magnificent ensemble of soloists will be on hand, and Collegium Vocale 1704 will also be performing for the first time at the Baroque Days.
