Organ music at the Viennese courtM. Haselböck, Vocalodie Vokalensemble
Imagine: a search for knowledge that, after passing through hell and purgatory, aims for salvation in paradise. This is how it is described in Dante's >Divine Comedy<. How could this be translated into sound and tone? Setting out on a journey, asking questions, and arriving at a destination? At the heart of this night concert is Jacobus Buus' >Ricercar<, embedded in Baroque passacaglias, capriccios, battle music, and one of Georg Muffat's great toccatas, as well as a vocal ensemble trained in Gregorian chants, which fills the nighttime collegiate church with contemplative sounds.
Martin Haselböck, THE specialist in church music, will be playing the collegiate church's grand organ during the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk.
