Is there anyone who doesn’t known Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’? Natural phenomena, animal sounds and the events of human lives, portrayed with a richness of colour in musical paintings that come to life in the listeners’ heads. Even if summer storms have become wilder and the winter cold has grown milder since Vivaldi’s time, this work retains its place in the world of music. Once more the spirited conductor Rubén Dubrovsky and his Bach Consort Wien are guests, again bringing a compatriot with them to Melk: The Argentinian soprano Verónica Cangemi joins tenor Michael Schade to follow Vivaldi’s masterpiece with thrilling arias and duets that ensure a fitting Whit Sunday mood.
