Children’s TV presenter Juri Tetzlaff travels with two musicians through the seasons and finds out how to get violins to bark and what coldness sounds like. The “Four Seasons” are not just a classical chart-topper but also a challenge for any violinist. How does Antonio Vivaldi manage to make nature and weather tangible in his music? Sweltering heat, gentle breezes, powerful storms and thunder and lightning: Antonio Vivaldi created artful sound-worlds by translating everyday elements into music. He turned birdcalls and dogs barking into melodies. We set off on his trail and see: Antonio Vivaldi was a sound-nerd and a showman – always on the hunt for exciting effects and new playing techniques. Juri Tetzlaff – a familiar face from TV and much loved for his compelling, enthusiastic storytelling style – joins a small ensemble to take children on a musical tour of the turning of the year.
