Today is truly not a good day, Max thinks. From the moment he wakes up, the little mouse notices he’s not in a good mood at all. The grumpy mouse seems to have got out of bed on the wrong side. When his mouse mum sends him up to the attic to hang up the washing, Max can’t even begin to think about what to do with his bad mood. But in the attic he finds a mysterious old wooden chest full of wondrous objects for him to discover. Shoving the wash basket into the corner, the curious mouse-boy plunges into the exciting stories these treasures have to tell.
