The forest and the life in it: if you listen carefully, it has much to tell you. How has it changed over the centuries? Can we even imagine today how Rameau and his contemporaries experienced it? This concert is devoted to the noises and sounds of the forest habitat; it lets the audience hear these with the ears of the 17th century. The Schmelzer Competition 2022 produced not one but two winners – each one convincing and brilliant in their own way. Just as they ultimately shared their prize, they now share the stage in the prizewinners’ concert of the Baroque Festival, each presenting their own programme but nonetheless complementing each other with their instruments.
