In this concert, two of the most popular themes in art – love and nature – come together. At its heart are lyrical romances and songs in which poets enter into a dialogue with animals or the elements of Creation and identify themselves with streams, cliffs, trees, storms or birds. A few years ago, Albert Recasens and his Grande Chapelle brought musical delicacies to Melk that were almost unknown in this country. In this programme, specially conceived for the Baroque Festival, he again reaches deep into the rich trove of the Spanish baroque, this time with imitations of nature and expressions of emotion and love.
