To conclude the Whit weekend, the Baroque Festival has an acoustic delicacy in store for its audience. The Tallis Scholars are considered one of the outstanding vocal ensembles for Early Music with a millions-strong fan club stretching from St Paul’s Cathedral to Canada, from the Sistine Chapel to New Zealand. Their programme at the abbey features works devoted to our own angels as well as ones by English composers such as Thomas Tallis, a master of polyphony who delighted audiences in Melk two years ago with “Spem in alium”.

The promising young organist Aurore Baal charms the listener’s ear with majestic sounds from the baroque and the present day.
