Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk Schloss Pielach

The greatest hits for Queen Anne

Works by James Paisible, Henry Purcell, Thomas Morgan

La petite écurie

For many years the Baroque Festival has been supporting young talent – the stars of tomorrow. And in doing so it frequently manages to discover personalities who can be expected to have a great musical career. And these expectations have often been met. La petite écurie, an oboe ensemble of graduates of the Mozarteum Salzburg, turns its attention to manuscripts from the British Library with the favourite music of Queen Anne, the last monarch of the House of Stuart. Written for her own oboe ensemble, it contains all the suites by her favourite composer James Paisible. Thus a little of the magic of the English court of the 17th and 18th centuries will be brought into Schloss Pielach on this pleasurable afternoon.

A contingent will be reserved for the first concert so that multiple bookings/subscribers have the opportunity to visit the evening concert too (see p. 38). So please book in good time! Return shuttle bus from Melk to Pielach included.
