Wallis Giunta


Mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta was the winner of the 'Young Singer' category at the 2018 International Opera Awards and 'Breakthrough Artist in UK Opera' in the 2017 WhatsOnStage Awards. Highlights in the 2019/20 season include Dodo in the European premiere of Missy Mazzoli Breaking the Waves at the Edinburgh International Festival, and house debuts for Seattle Opera as Angelina / “La Cenerentola”, for Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Bradamante / “Alcina”, and for Boston Lyric Opera as Sesto / “Giulio Cesare”. Recent highlights include a critically acclaimed solo recital at the BBC Proms in Cadogan Hall, Octavian / “Der Rosenkavalier” at Oper Leipzig and Cherubino / “Le nozze di Figaro” at The Grange Festival. On the concert platform, recent highlights include a return to the Münchner Rundfunkorchester for Mozart’s “Die Schuldigkeit des Ersten Gebots”, and a return to Koerner Hall, Toronto, for a Bernstein Centenary gala.
